A dove with an olive branch in its beak, the symbol of peace, appears on money that Bosnia and Herzegovina issued in 1992, the first year of the war. This note for 100 dinars comes from the provisional «doves» series of the National Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina: four values, 100, 500, 1,000 and 5,000 dinars, with inscriptions in Cyrillic and Latin.
Notes of this series were distributed to towns in Central Bosnia, where local offices applied their own handstamps: stamps of Breza, Fojnica, Kreševo, Tešanj, Vareš, Visoko and Zenica are known. There are also notes with no handstamp at all, remainders that never received a town mark.
For a Bosnia and Herzegovina collection, this is a page of the provisional money of wartime 1992: collectors assemble one value with different town handstamps, and each of them is a separate position. VF-AU condition lies between VF and AU: the note has circulated, but the signs are moderate and the paper keeps its body.
A collection can grow in any direction, and the VPcoins catalogue has options for each of them.
